Tottenham have been talking to Mauricio Pochettino over a possible return to the club. Pochettino, who was sacked by Tottenham 18 months ago, managed to join PSG in January but surprised everyone by entertaining the idea of returning to London.
The PSG manager wants to revive his former club, who have encountered disappointment in an attempt to replace Jose Mourinho. This makes it even more possible for the PSG manager to make a return to his former club.
There is a sense that the Argentinian, who only has a year left on his contract, is not satisfied with his team of the French capital. Reporters in Italy informed BookiePro that he is not comfortable working with the sporting director, Leonardo, and the team have suffered a difficult season. Although PSG won the Coupe de France, his team still finished in second position in Ligue 1 and lost the semi-final against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Response
Everything will depend on how PSG responds to his plans to return to Tottenham. The French club is unwilling to lose Mauricio Pochettino and could likely block his attempt to leave the club. PSG, who fired Thomas Tuchel in December before hiring Pochettino, would much rather avoid the hassle of finding a new manager during the summer.
Tottenham, who decided to fire Jose Mourinho in April, are not put off by the French club’s stance. Appointing Mauricio Pochettino would be a major boost for Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy. The Tottenham chairman, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino with Jose Mourinho, has been facing criticism after a horrible season that ended with the Spurs in 7th place in the Premier League. The team only managed to qualify for the Europa Conference League.
Mauricio Pochettino is still a huge favorite with supporters at Tottenham. The former manager produced titles in 2016 and 2017 before he took his team to the 2019 Champions League final. Unfortunately, Tottenham lost against Liverpool and Pochettino had to leave by the end of the season.
Tottenham are currently in limbo after finishing the season with caretaker Ryan Mason. Harry Kane has stated that he wants to leave the club, sparking interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea, and the team is in desperate need of reinforcements.

Daniel Levy’s Quest for a New Manager
Levy is under an immense amount of pressure to select the right manager for his team and placed everything on hold to pursue Mauricio Pochettino. The Spurs are still looking at Erik ten Hag. However, he could be ruled out after signing an extension contract with Ajax until 2023. Tottenham were also considering Hansi Flick but the former Bayern Munich manager decided to take the job in Germany.
Other candidates on the list include Graham Potter from Brighton, who unfortunately lacks experience when it comes to the highest level, and Brendan Rodgers from Leicester, who is unlikely to leave his team. Tottenham have also looked at Ralf Rangnick who is currently an unemployed German manager. However, it’s unclear whether the discussions were focused on the managerial role. Antonio Conte could also be interested in the job after leaving Internazionale on Wednesday.
However, for now, all the focus is around Mauricio Pochettino. It would be a significant gamble for Pochettino to leave an elite club like PSG and return to Tottenham in North London to accomplish a rescue mission. However, the fact that he is missing his family in London plays a big part in his decision.
